Emergency First Aid at Work - HSE Approved 1 day Course
Course Objectives:
This is a course for people who are required to act as an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace. The course will equip them with the necessary skills to take charge and to deal with an emergency effectively. The course is designed to assist the Emergency First Aider in preventing situations becoming worse and maintaining life until help arrives.
This course is ideal for smaller workplaces that present fewer health and safety risks.
Course Content:
- Basic Hygiene/Use of Barriers
- Dealing with an unconscious casualty
- Recovery positions
- Shock
- Choking
- Seizures
- Wounds/Bleeding / Minor Injuries
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
- Record keeping
- First Aid kits
Who Should Attend?
Nominated emergency first aiders, or anyone wanting to learn basic life saving first aid.
Dates: 2nd November 2011
Venue: Coach and Horses, Harvington
Duration: One Day, 9.00am - 4.00pm
Cost: £65 + Vat per person. This includes Buffet Lunch and Tea/Coffee.

Assessment & Certification:
Continuous assessment by trainer.
HSE accredited 'Emergency First Aid at Work' Certificate
All candidates will be issued with a First Aid Manual.
* First Response (First Aid) Ltd is a member of the Association of Independent First Aid at Work Training Organizations and also the Association of First Aiders.
Depending on the hazards and number of employees in the workplace your first aiders will need to be trained in either Emergency first aid at work or First aid at work. A First Aid Risk Assessment of the workplace may indicate that First Aiders need more knowledge, then Employers should be considering candidates undertaking the 3 day First Aid at Work Course.
